Adventures with Bruce - Graduation Problem
Today the twins are graduating from high school. Although the arrangements have all been handled by Bruce's wife and The Girl Who Feeds Me, Bruce is visibly nervous, and he keeps curling into a ball and moaning things like "my baby girls, my baby girls". Although I try very hard to understand the way humans think, this behavior completely baffles me, since the twins stopped being infants approximately 18 years ago. They're both enrolled in college already, they both have jobs, Maggie has a permanent boyfriend, and Barb has a tax-sheltered retirement fund. So, the logical conclusion is that the journey is decidedly in the opposite direction from baby-hood and there's no turning back.
So, if any of you know a father who is capable of coping with daughters graduating from high school, please let me know how it's done, since when Bruce is in this state it's impossible to steer him toward the refrigerator where we keep the mozzarella cheese.
Respectfully submitted,
Ferdinand T. Cat
