Confused Americans for Truth - Post-Mortem on the Second Coming of the Immigration Bill
Okay, so the new, improved immigration bill has died in the Senate. I know many people are upset by this, but I happen to believe that a republic such as ours can still work even when there's a large public outcry.
The common thread in most stories about this ordeal is the fracturing of the Republican party and what Hispanics may do about it, but the most important fact here is that once again, the debate about a critical issue is between different shades of conservatism. The defining moment was not Ted Kennedy versus Jim DeMint, it was Tony Snow debating Laura Ingraham.
I can't help wondering if this is why conservatives dominate talk radio. The liberals have run out of new ideas, so all they can do is keep repeating the same old same old.
That gets boring real quick.
Respectfully submitted,
