Catblogging - The Interloper Outdoors

Most dogs will readily accept a collar and a leash, but cats are different. Although we are superior life forms by almost any measure, the neck of a cat is designed for springiness during a pounce, not for wearing a leash. So, a cat leash is always connected to a harness around the waist. This means you can't really lead the cat, you have to follow it. Obviously, we do not see that as a problem.
A bigger problem has to do with the general design of a cat. Dogs have been bred for centuries to perform tasks that help humans in one way or another, but cats were perfectly designed for one thing: killing vermin. This means that if we see a target, we must be able to kill it without worrying about what happens along the way. The last thing you want while being walked by a cat is for your arm to get pulled out of its socket because a mouse moves into the kill zone. As a result, even if you can convince a cat to wear a harness in the first place, only a completely insane cat with a dangerous hidden agenda would even think of going for a walk on a leash.
So anyway, this is a picture of the Interloper going for a walk on a leash.
Respectfully submitted,

The Interloper is adorable, as always. (So are you, Ferdy.)
My cat MacTavis used to travel all over the West with me to art shows I was in. But when I tried him on a leash, he "died". A platoon of mice wouldn't have elicited a whisker quiver from him. I couldn't walk a dead cat, so Mac won that battle. (I can't call it a battle of wits, because he was clearly smarter than I was about it.)
Mac would share Ferdy's opinion of the Interloper, too. Obviously, brilliant cats think alike.

Oh No Leash or Harness here. Ten Kitty Cats... Hahahaha... we rule our yard, but the human does worry.
Purrs for a Great Week Ferdy
