Laura Ingraham - Laura Ingraham in Chicago
Bruce and Nate went to see Laura Ingraham earlier tonight at the Stonegate Center in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. The event was sponsored in part by her Chicago affiliate station, WIND. Recently, WIND moved her show to the 12-2pm time slot. This means we miss an hour of the show, it's on tape delay, and it's opposite Rush Limbaugh. Almost everyone attending the event complained to the WIND representatives about the lousy time slot, so I imagine they were glad when the whole thing was over.
Laura talked about the importance of becoming involved in the legislative process: writing and calling our legislators, voting in elections, talking the talk. This is the theme of her new book, Power to the People. Afterward, she took questions from the audience. Everyone was given a little card, and if you had a question, you would write it on the card and give it to a staff person. This avoids the problem of needing armed guards to pull people away from an open microphone.
Unfortunately, I wasn't at the event, so no one was able to ask the really important question, which was: were any toxic materials used in the manufacture of the free souvenir pens?
Respectfully submitted,
