Web Site News - Well, We're Back, Mostly

by Ferdinand T Cat We are now using Movable Type version 4, which is a significant update from version 3. It fixes several problems we had with the old software (tags, for example), but it did involve some changes, particularly in the handling of comments. Our comment facility was highly customized, and the whole thing had to be thrown out. Important note: the new CatCalendar feature has nothing to do with cats, which is a real disappointment to all of us here. Worth noting is that the default templates are now modularized the way Bruce has been doing it all along. This was originally my idea, so that means Movable Type is listening to cats, which makes up for the CatCalendar disappointment. The back end is completely different. If you're one of the many authors who work for the Conservative Cat Blog Empire, prepare yourself for a shock. We will resume our regular programming shortly.
