Ferdy at the Movies - All-Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku-Nuku

by Ferdinand T Cat

Asuko Natsume (Nuku-Nuku to her friends) looks like an ordinary high school girl, but in fact, she is a powerful robot warrior designed by the crusading scientist Dr. Natsume to help save the world from the machinations of the evil Mishima Corporation. The problem is that there are only three or four sane people within a 50-mile radius of her house, and Dr. Natsume is not one of them.

Nuku-Nuku has the brain of a baby kitten (only slightly smarter than a baby human) and the evil corporation's plan for world domination involves things like quick-freeze ovens and giant clay toys. In the first episode, Nuku-Nuku must save the day when a Mishima robot washing machine goes berserk and starts cleaning people's clothes with the people still in them.

The flavor of the series is perfectly captured by the 90-second clip shown below (from this DVD).

Anyway, I highly recommend this series. Yes, it's very silly, but it has cat humor in it, and besides, there are times when very silly is a very good thing.

Respectfully submitted,

Ferdinand T. Cat
