Adventures with Bruce - Glowing Soda Experiment

Recently, somebody uploaded a video on the I Am Bored web site that purports to show how to make Mountain Dew glow in the dark. The video is, in fact, a hoax, though apparently one of recent vintage. The people who made the video probably used the fluid from ordinary glow sticks to perform their stunt; however, it seems to me plausible that there would be some way to mix non-glowing substances together to make a glow-in-the-dark liquid. I asked Bruce about it, and he made the following video to show how it's done.
