Confused Americans for Truth - I Can Understand the Cat Thing, but the Bit About the Cars Has to be a Joke

A reader asked me to look at a Christian blog called The Christian View - British Baptists. At issue was an article about the satanic nature of cats. The article is, of course, nonsense. Not only does it refer to the suffocating-babies myth (debunked here and about a hundred other places), but it drags in the old saw about cats being witch's familiars.

The truth is that cats help a person stay sane. For example, the photo on the left shows Hillary Clinton while she was living with Socks the Cat and the photo on the right shows her after Socks was given to her husband's secretary. It's obvious which image shows a woman in control and which shows a woman desperately trying to remember what human emotion is like.

The thing is, the cat article is almost too stupid to be serious, but the article in the same blog about which cars a good Christian should buy is beyond the pale. I can only conclude that the entire site is a joke.

So, if you are a cat lover, there is no need to bombard this poor shlub with hate mail or put him on a blacklist. Instead, consider electronically sending him flowers. Given his comments about the evil influence of the flower holder in the Volkswagen Beetle, he should really appreciate the joke. And, if by some improbable fluke he's serious, the flowers should unhinge him to the point where he will realize he needs serious psychiatric help.
