Laura Ingraham - No Noose Is Good News

Decades ago, long before I was born, a new crime was invented-- the random grocery poisoning. A person or persons unknown put cyanide inside Tylenol capsules and then put the doctored product back on the grocery shelf. There was no way to link the murderer with the victims, and by the time people started dying and the cause was identified, any physical evidence that might lead the police to the killer was long gone. In the intervening period, almost everything that you buy has been enclosed in tamper-evident packaging. We couldn't catch the people who committed this new kind of crime, but we could increase the effort required to the point where it was no longer cost-effective.

We fight the same sort of war with spammers and hackers, and we fight it every single moment of every day.

Now, thanks to three idiot white kids in Jena, Louisiana, noose-hanging has become the hot new vandalism.

God help us all.

People who earn their living by exploiting racism want to see noose-hanging as a new kind of crime with new kinds of government measures to punish it. That, however, is revenge-thinking. It was revenge-thinking that turned the Jena incident into a national crisis. What we need is not revenge-thinking but Laura-Ingraham-style Power to the People thinking: when you see one of these stupid nooses, you take it down. You don't call the police, you don't call the press, you just throw it away. As soon as that noose falls into the dumpster, it ceases to become a weapon of hate and becomes ordinary trash. End of problem.

This approach to the noose plague would be a quiet revolution. It won't make headlines, and it won't get anybody celebrated as a hero. It's something that could not come from the imagination of a liberal. It is, however, the only way to put an end to this interminable single-issue news cycle.

Tell your friends. It's time the people took this country back from the vandals.

Why don't people just ignore the noose. A person has a free speech right to hang a noose because the SCOTUS has decided that these kinds of acts are free speech when they said it was OK to burn a Flag.

I wish the government would be as aggressive at going after Flag burners as they are the mindless people who hang nooses.

I have one hanging on my blog in protest of the double standard with regard to free speech.

It is just a rope. Obviously the person who put it there is a coward because they leave...

Just remember The Martha (Stewart) Rule: the PTB can ALWAYS prosecute you for SOMETHING if they want to. So, make sure NO DNA of yours is on the noose and have some credible witnesses that you are only REMOVING the noose, not the one who hung it... At least it'll make it harder for "feddle gummint persecutors" who just need a few turf-enhancing scalps to nail you with something.

I think it was Texas Fred who said that the next time there is another Katrina like disaster, just tell people that there was an alledged racial injustice. You'll have 30,000 people on buses in less than an hour.
