Notes from Ferdy - This is Simply Unbelievable
Big Dog reports that 40 employees of Palisades Medical Center face possible civil and criminal fines for leaking information about George Clooney's motorcycle accident to the press. This is insane, folks! What I'm hearing is that it took 40 people to keep the tabloids properly informed.
When I go to the animal hospital, a single nurse, by herself, is sufficient to let the Schaumburg newspapers know what's going on. On the other hand, it usually requires 4 people in body armor to give me a vaccination or a sedative. Using the same 4-to-1 ratio for a human hospital, this means that George Clooney needed 160 people to set his rib and wrap his chest. It's no wonder that health-care costs are so high.
So here's my suggestion. Instead of completely overhauling the health-care system and expanding government subsidies, we should have the government call the people at the Park Wise Animal Hospital. Since I started going there, they've learned all sorts of nifty tricks for performing difficult and dangerous health-care tasks with a very small staff.
Obviously, this is information human health care professionals desperately need.
Respectfully submitted,
