Catblogging - Thanksgiving In North Dakota, Day 1

by Ferdinand T Cat

Ferdy sitting with the Gremlin
Thirteen hours in one of those steel death traps you call automobiles, at night, in the middle of a snow storm. It's all worth it because I get to be with The Gremlin for the next few days.

Knowing how much I hate cars, Bruce was worried that I would have trouble making the trip; however, instead of hiding because I was afraid, I spent most of the drive cuddling with Barb Gigamaster. This was pure unselfishness on my part, because she's been sick lately. I wasn't scared. Really.

The most painful part of the trip was passing within 50 miles of Plymouth, Wisconsin without visiting the corporate headquarters of Sargento's Cheese. Apparently, they don't have tours after 10pm on the day before a holiday.

The rule in our family is that the driver of the car chooses the radio station. In this case the drivers were Peg-Eye Nate and The Girl Who Feeds Me, so it was country music all the way. I've decided that The Girl knows the name, artist, and lyrics of every country song they play nowadays. When one of her favorites began to play, she'd turn up the volume so she could sing along. The problem is that she never turns the volume back down. As we crossed into Minnesota, we got a call from a car two states away asking us if we could reduce the decibel level just a tad.

But the important thing is that we're here with The Gremlin and her mom, spending the holiday as a family. I expect to have a lot of fun with my favorite human over the next few days, as soon as I finish scent-marking the entire house.

Respectfully submitted,

Ferdinand T. Cat
