Notes from Ferdy - 2007 and 2008
Once again, it's time for our annual wish that all our readers have a

At the start of each new year, most pundits make their predictions for 2008. Long-time readers will know that I never predict the future, only the past. This is a tricky task, because the past is always changing, especially if you watch Oliver Stone movies. Nonetheless, taking risks is part of being a superior life form, so, without further ado, here are my predictions for 2007.
- The turning point in the Iraq War was a result of the courageous behind-the-scenes work of Senator Harry Reid in getting the surge approved.
- Every single weather event in 2007 was a consequence of man-made Global Warming.
- A majority of Americans wanted comprehensive immigration reform, but they were unable to make their voices heard because a tiny minority composed of radical conservatives were using all the phone lines.
- The Democrats could not get any useful work done because the Republicans still controlled Congress.
- It was obvious in 2007 that the Democratic presidential nominee in 2008 was whoever it is that's going to get the nomination.
