Notes from Ferdy - The McCain Solution
It occurs to me that we are looking at this McCain thing from the wrong angle.
John McCain gets his heroic reputation from two basic tendencies: cooperating with his enemies and screwing his friends. The problem is, the inside-the-beltway world in which McCain lives is soaked in partisan politics, not ideology.
As long as we see things in terms of Republicans and Democrats, the change everyone is looking for is not going to happen. We need to return American politics to the domain of principle: of conservative plans versus liberal dreams.
If we can do that, then John McCain's enemies won't be Democrats, they'll be conservatives. That's us! And when he strides into the White House, instead of trying to silence dissent, he'll be looking for ways to stick it to the liberals and give us what we want.
So don't get sucked in by McCain's attempts to look conservative. We need to make it very clear that we're his worst enemies. If we can pull that off, then President McCain will fall all over himself trying to make us happy.
You have to keep your eye on the big picture.
Respectfully submitted,
Ferdinand T. Cat

Ferdy, you're a genius. It's a wonder how such a large intellect can fit inside such a small skull.
