Notes from Ferdy - Boulder City Official Loses Mind, Proposes Anti-Cat Legislation

by Ferdinand T Cat

From the Associated Press via Boulder, Colorado's NBC affiliate and linked on the Drudge Report.

A Boulder official wants to push an ordinance that would require cat owners to keep their pets inside so they don't kill birds and other animals.

Boulder Open Space Board of Trustees member Bruce Bland says domestic cats that are allowed to wander outdoors are responsible for the suffering of many small mammals and birds. Bland's idea has caught the attention of some Boulder City Council members who say they're interested in exploring it.

I think a better idea would be to explore how raving lunatics end up in city government.

It was one thing when Bruce decided to keep me indoors because the little piles of blood and feathers tended to leave ugly stains on the carpet. But nature is not a a Disney cartoon, and predators are supposed to kill things. It keeps the vermin population under control.

When you see a cat playing with a small animal, it's because the stupid little rodent won't die. I don't have this problem, but The Interloper is notorious for playing with mice, because she doesn't bite hard enough to kill. She attacks again and again, using exactly the same technique, and gets upset because the mouse runs away before she can eat it. In this respect, she's like John McCain trying to keep the money out of politics.

Anyway, this sort of civic madness only happens because most voters hope that if they ignore city government, it will just go away. It doesn't go away. Instead, it gets packed with crazy people who embarrass the city by talking to the press about feline cruelty.

So, when your next local election rolls around, find out everything you can about the candidates who are running, and vote accordingly. Don't let an anti-cat ordinance happen to you.

Respectfully submitted,

Ferdinand T. Cat

Pfft. Figures this kind of nonsense would take place in Boulder. Will they pass this kind of legislation against dogs? They're a bigger threat to animals (as well as to people) than cats.

This is an OUTRAGE! I shall gather my litter and we shall go on the attack. I will register them to vote! Hey, if they can punish them for being who they are, then they must be human. Eh? lol.
