Confused Americans for Truth - Obama Faces Security Problem on Foreign Tour
The Obama campaign staff is reportedly upset with John McCain for letting slip some details about Senator Obama's highly-publicized trip to the Middle East.
I have a hard time understanding their concern. Obama certainly has nothing to fear from the terrorists, and thanks to the success of the surge that Obama opposed, even the Iraqi government is beginning to think Obama would not be a complete disaster.
Many Obama supporters believe that there are fanatics lurking on the fringes of American politics that would do anything to see Obama taken out of circulation. This is no longer true. Their leader is already working on a new strategy, and in fact Mrs. Clinton is counting on Obama to help her clear the debts from her previous campaign. I don't see a credible threat from that direction.
So, if you ask me, this is just another case of Obama campaign paranoia, and I'm starting to find this just a little bit annoying. If Obama's talk-first, talk-later, and then talk-some-more philosophy really works, then he should be able to talk any potential assassin out of making a move. If he can't, then I have to wonder exactly what he expects to do against a nuclear-armed Iran and a China on the brink of ecological catastrophe.
Of course, I've been asking that kind of question for a long time, and I'm still waiting for an answer.
Respectfully submitted,
