Web Site News - Internet Explorer Epidemic Traced to SiteMeter

by Ferdinand T Cat

Many web sites are having problems with Internet Explorer. This includes the Michelle Malkin web complex and the entire Conservative Cat Blog Empire.

The symptom is that the site appears fine, but you immediately see an error message, and when you click OK, it takes you to an error page.

UPDATED as of 10:22pm: Originally, the problem was believed to be related to Movable Type, but it now appears the culprit is SiteMeter. Removing the Javascript for SiteMeter allows IE users to view the site.

This is very painful. I love looking at the SiteMeter reports.

FINAL UPDATE: SiteMeter has fixed the problem.

Yours is the only one that would open for now !

I was beginning to think some ugly plot had commenced.
