Confused Americans for Truth - I'm Back

by Ferdinand T Cat

I worry about Bruce. The past month he's been getting darker and darker, until he was so thoroughly depressed that all he could do was work. His employer's web site looks great, but he himself is looking pretty ragged. Fortunately, he's under constant medical supervision, and his doctors have kept him from doing anything really stupid. Still, it's been hard to get him to fix the blog so I could post again.

Nonetheless, today was a major turning point for our country, and I insisted he let me start posting no matter how terrifying it is for him to venture out of the confines of DNA research and contact the real world.

The African-American narrative has vexed this country since the Declaration of Independence was first debated by the Second Continental Congress. The Republican party had its birth in that narrative, as did the new liberalism of the Sixties. With the ascendance of an African-American to the highest office in our land, that narrative has reached a climax. A terrible chapter in our history has almost come to a close.

I say almost because there is still one thing that can go wrong, and undo all the progress that we've made: Barack Obama's Presidency can be a manifest failure. That cannot be allowed to happen.

How, you are asking, can we expect anything less than catastrophe from a man who believes in a Marx-tinged bill of rights? There is a simple answer: we have to stop him.

Barack Obama's plan is to spend our way out of debt. We've done that in Illinoistwice—and it's not working. So, we can't let Obama try it on a national scale.

In other words, we have to oppose him every step of the way. We won't always win, but every Obama failure will make our country a little more prosperous. make his presidency a little more successful, and make our long, sorry problems with race a little less relevant. If we're successful, he'll get re-elected to a second term, he'll get all sorts of monuments, and history books will make him into a great hero. Yes, it will be annoying to be the unsung heroes behind the scenes, but there's an upside. Ten years from now, when demagogues try once again to drown out rational discussion with cries of race, we can point to the Obama Presidency and say with complete honesty.

Don't be silly. We helped make Barack Obama the greatest President of the Twenty-First Century.

It's a dirty job, but nobody else but us can do it.

Respectfully submitted,

Ferdinand T. Cat

Welcome back!!! I've suffered from depression for 20 years; I'm sorry you had to deal with that but I'm so glad you're on the mend. Hang in there. We need you!

Sorry 'bout not noticing. I was having some of that myself since November, but I just didn't nail it. One can pretend for so long before the signs appear and prove my denials to be just that, denials. Glad you're back, though! So am I. ;)
